Hi everyone,
I have received an e-mail from Japan regarding some interesting shorebirds
spotted last weekend
in mid-Honshu Island.
Those are likely Semipalmated sandpiper and Cox's sandpiper(Hybrid of Curlew and
Sharp-tailed?)
and I am seeking for any advice regarding identification.
If interested in this issue, please send me an e-mail and I am going to forward
several files which
contains superb photographs of those birds.
Also there are about a dozen Blue-winged and at least three Orange-bellied
Parrot at Western
Water treatment early this morning.
Best Regards
Tadao (Ted) Shimba
p.s. There are quite a few Western Sandpiper records in Japan, but Semipalmated
has not been recorded officially yet.
