Spring has arrived on the Mornington Peninsula (south of Melb) with the arrival of the first Pallid Cuckoo which was calling loudly in the Moorooduc Quarry section of the Mt Eliza Regional Park yesterday.A Horsfield Bronze Cuckoo was also calling from the top of a dead tree, living up to it's name beautifully with the bronze plumage glinting in the sunshine.
At home on the Southern Peninsula my Grey Fantails and Yellow Faced Honeyeaters have returned as well as both Shining and Horsfield's Bronze Cuckoos.
