Hello Shorebird experts,

On 29/8/2001 while on a 'first-contact' outing at Bribie Island, South-east
Queensland, I recorded some video footage of a small 'plover'.
The observers present were not in agreement as to the identification of the
bird.

The 'stage' of the plumage, the size of the bird and the length of the legs
caused a degree of discussion.
The main point of concern was the length of the legs.

I have placed three images of the bird on a web-page at
http://www.powerup.com.au/~inglisrc/bribieplover.htm

I would be grateful if some Birding-aus shorebird experts would look at the
images and give me their opinion of the identification.
