Laughing Turtle-Doves are definitely appreciably smaller than Spotted Turtle-Dove. Don't forget that a 10% size difference in one dimension equates to about a 32% overall size difference (assuming that 10% applies to all 3 dimensions). Yes, you do get 'large' Laughing TDs and small Spotted TDs, but it is rare that you can't pick them on size. However, I have never thought that Laughing TDs were as small as Peaceful Doves. But then I have seen both species so often with PDs being the common dove at the Argyle Diamond Mine and Broome, and Laughing TDs being the common dove in Perth.
