I went to Ricketts Point today (Sunday) at times between 1020
and 1110 and guess I saw:
two non-breeding Common Terns
several non-breeding (not juvenile) White-fronted Terns
one breeding White-fronted.T
I'd be glad if anyone can confirm these identifications. Is this
an early date for Common Terns in Port Phillip Bay ? (Alex
Farias' reported 3 at Ricketts Point last Wednesday.)
I am hoping to go back to Ricketts Point, if possible with a
telescope, in the next couple of days with the best times likely
to be 10-11am Monday and 11-12am Tuesday (because of the tides).
I have a note of the plumages for anyone is interested but the
viewing conditions were too difficult for me to be certain about
some features.
