Hi All, I'm just going over recent sandbank counts for Caloundra, SEQld. Our winter population of Double-banded Plover (DBPL) has been more or less 20, although we had one count of 40 back in May. On 2.8.01, we had 25 DBPL in breeding plumage and 2 in non-breeding. On 9.8.01 every one of the 24 was in breeding plumage. Yesterday, 16.8.01, we had only 7 DBPL, and all were in breeding plumage. I'd be interested to hear if anyone in NSW or VIC, or even in NZ is starting to see a change of numbers of DBPL. Cheers Jill Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
