Does anyone else like hunting down old bird prints on ebay? I've had hours of fun searching and browsing through the 'natural history prints' section. Little by little I'm getting quite a collection - including a lovely b/w engraving of a Dodo, an 18th Century hand-colored engraving of a Great Auk (no wonder it became extinct - it looks soooo stupid !!!)

'Rare species' abound - it's amazing how many original John Gould Hummingbird prints there are on Ebay at any given moment for example.

And right now there are even some original hand-colored plates from Sharpe's Monograph of the Kingfishers - including a couple of amazing Paradise Kingfishers  (Tanysiptera acis & T. margarethae).

Does anyone else share this interest?
