Niven McCrie wasn't the person who plagiarised Hilary Thompson's and my
annotated bird list. Nor was the culprit any of our birding friends. And
I'm pleased to hear he didn't copy the list and hand it around. But then
I didn't think he would. Despite our disagreements (and I hope Niven
wasn't suggesting in his last email that I can't tell the difference
between a pale Brown Falcon and a Grey Falcon!) I do believe he is a
person of integrity. Then again, maybe he just didn't think the list was
worth the effort.
It may be that some innocent people will feel unjustly accused because
I've spoken out. But what are the alternatives - name people and be
sued? Or not say anything at all?
On another subject I may be in Melbourne and Sydney in early November and
would be happy to meet up with anyone who has the time to say hello.
