Hi all

Jill Denning commented on Lesser Crested Tern in breeding plumage.
About 2 weeks ago I was on Ash Island , Newcastle , and saw a Gull-billed Tern in full breeding plumage.

Cheers

Hi Dick,

I can affirm that breeding plumage for Gull-billed Terns is quite in order in these parts (South-East Qld). We have birds in both plumages at present.

I just hope someone from Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville or Cairns is reading this and tells me what their Lesser Cresteds are wearing this winter. I would expect that breeding plumage is out of step for this time of year, but if I'm wrong it won't be the first time.

Cheers,

Jill
