I too was surprised by the Striated Fieldwrens reported in the Sydney region. Over ten years ago I have twice recorded them near Porters Creek Dam, near Milton. I have visited a few times since and failed to see them. One morning, walking in the Budawangs (surely one of this continent's most beautiful places) I had Striated Fieldwrens singing from shrubs the length of some of the valleys.
