Incidentally, on the subject of mulga parrots, I accidentally did an
"Audubon" (killed) a beautiful specimen when it hit the windscreen of my
hirecar last winter, on my one and only drive from the Alice to Uluru (from
whence I flew out, with great applause from its mate et al). Surely this
must be a frequent mishap esp. with the double-decker tour buses and semis,
or was it just a fluke that it was killed by an admirer? (I know, I'm
seeking solace in some feedback on similar misadventures, to try and spread
my guilt)
