Hi all
Many thanks to John Gamblin who sent us the info about the State Government's
intention to scrap their Marine Parks proposal - mainly because they can't get
the WHOLE deal exactly their way. Whatever you think about the issue of
conservation for fisheries, it is vital that we get legislation enacted for
these parks while there is bipartisan support for the concept.
Thanks also to Paul Jones for the Herald Sun voteline number (how typical of
that paper to confuse perfectly clear issues by asking parks supporters to vote
"no"!).
In case anyone missed the number it is 1300 360 204 to vote NO in a poll asking
whether or not the Victorian Gov't should drop the idea of broad Marine Parks
legislation.
