Of possible interest for local birders: during a quick look this morning, there were at least 7 shovelers (4 male 3 female), along with the usual ducks (perhaps more grey teal than usual). This species is uncommon on this swamp, although one (probably immature) has been there intermittently for some time. At least one pair of hardhead was present (two pairs have been regular recently). Also, a group of three white-naped honeyeaters flew over this morning (passing through). Cheers, Richard.
