Hi All,

We have now added a mystery photo of an interesting juvenile cuckoo to our
website at http://www.zestforbirds.co.za and would appreciate your comments
on what you think it is and why.

As far as the other mystery birds go, here is a quick update:

Mystery raptor:
Apparently a number of people had problems viewing this image. We hope that
we have managed to resolve this now and that everyone will be able to see
the image. Answers so far have included Crowned Eagle, African Goshawk,
Black Harrier and Black Sparrowhawk with the majority of votes being split
between the harrier and sparrowhawk. Let us know what you think. We will be
posting the comments to this page shortly.

Mystery gulls #2 and #3:
Only 3 answers received so far - two for heuglini and one for fuscus with
respect to each mystery gull. None of these give reasons for their ID. We
would like to hear from you on your opinion of what these birds are and also
why you say so. We would like to post some comments to this page shortly.
Please let us know what you think with reasons.

Mystery gull #4:
Only 3 answers received so far - one for heuglini and two for fuscus. None
of these give reasons for their ID. We would like to hear from you on your
opinion of what these birds are and also why you say so. We would like to
post some comments to this page shortly. Please let us know what you think
with reasons.

Mystery gull #5:
A flood of answers with lots of reasons have come in indicating that this is
a Black-headed Gull. However, there are a few that insist that this is a
Grey-headed Gull. Please go and have another critical look and let us know
what you think. We will post comments shortly.

We hope that you enjoy our new mystery cuckoo and please let us have your
opinions on the other mystery birds as well, especially the "black-backed
gulls". We are still trying to learn a lot about these gulls here in
Southern Africa and would appreciate any input we can get.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards
Trevor and John
