It was a long weekend in Queensland (Labour Day) today and the traffic on the Gold Coast was heavy. An Australian White Ibis waited at the crossing for a break in the traffic and then strolled casually across the road. The traffic came to a standstill and I was wondering at the further proof of how these creatures adapted so well to living with humans. Then I realised that the bird wasn't so clever after all. The lights were RED at the time. A true story - really!!!
