Morning all,
The Birds SA outing this month went to Scott Creek Conservation Park,
( 35 05 08s 138 40 25e), in the Mt Lofty Ranges, about 30km south of
Adelaide, with about 15 people attending.
The absolute and unexpected highlight was a beautiful male Pink Robin,
followed closely by the spectacle of ca 100 Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos
flying over. Other birds noted were:
Australian Pelican - one flying overhead.
Wedge-tailed Eagle, Brown Falcon, Galahs, Rainbow Lorikeets, Musk Lorikeets,
Purple-crowned Lorikeets, Adelaide Rosellas, White-throated Treecreeper,
Superb Fairy-wrens, Spotted and Striated Pardalotes, White-browed
Scrubwrens, Weebill ( just one), Buff-rumped and Striated Thornbills, Red
Wattlebirds, Yellow-faced H/Es, Brown-headed, White-naped, Crescent, and New
Holland H/Es, Eastern Spinebills, Scarlet Robins, Crested Shriketits ( a
pair), Golden Whistlers, Grey Shrike-thrushes, Magpie Lark, Grey Fantails,
Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike (one heard), Dusky Woodswallows, Aust Magpies,
Grey Currawongs, Little Ravens, Red-browed Finches, Mistletoebirds,
Silvereyes, Common Blackbird.
