I think that Crested Pigeons are scattered all around the CBD in suitable
habitat (such as golf-courses).  For a few years I have seen them
regularly, usually in pairs, on the golf-course at Albert Park - the
northern end of which can't be much more than a kilometre south of the
Melbourne CBD.

It would be nice to think that they could displace the Spotted Turtle-Doves
from the suburban backyard niche, but I don't see much sign of it yet -
they seem to prefer more open areas.
