RE the Ibis Misbehaviour tale, I was once "robbed" by a semi-tame Pied Butcherbird at Mount Carbine Roadhouse with a smarter strategy. I was sitting with birding friends, having a cuppa and a sausage roll, enjoying the antics of the birdies, when one flew over and neatly dropped a 'plop' in my tea-cup. I rushed into the cafe to ask if I could have a refill, since 'their' pet bird had Done It .... and ..... yes I got my tea refill, but my half-eaten sausage roll had gone ..... My friends - being bird-lovers - looked on with amusement.... Una.
