Thank you, Ian Fraser, for your informative and useful posting about
your experiences in Tasmania.

I too had trouble tracking down the Strong-billed Honeyeater late last
year. On a visit in October, having found all the other endemics I
searched hard for the Strong-billed and had to make do with a "maybe"
sighting of a pair at Great Taylor Bay on Bruny Island. On a second
visit in December, I did find some on the Tinderbox Pensinsula south of
Hobart (which confirmed the previous sighting) but the strong-billed
seemed much less visible than the literature suggested and much harder
to find than the other endemic Honeyeaters.

Cheers, Ian Montgomery.
