Yesterday I observed one ASIAN DOWITCHER at Cairns Esplanade.  I watched it closely from 1545-1645 on a rising tide, before it flew east with godwits and knots.
In non-breeding plumage, it foraged, bathed and preened within or near a small channel.
There seems to be few recent records at this location.
