Workshop: Migratory Waders in the Hunter Estuary
Saturday March 24 1:30 - 6.00 pm
Wetlands Centre Shortland
A workshop is to be held on Saturday March 24 to discuss the deteriorating
habitats for migratory waders in the Hunter Estuary and the possible
responses that are being or that could be adopted. The workshop is being
held in conjunction with a meeting in Newcastle over March 24/25 of
representatives of the major bird interest groups of NSW, hosted by Hunter
Bird Observers Club.
The workshop will be of interest to all persons and organisations with an
interest in the environmental health and biodiversity of the lower Hunter
estuary. Significant numbers of migratory waders return each year to the
Hunter, but numbers are declining and many small waders are now only rarely
present.
