Dear all, It is my understanding that the Sand-Plover that was found in California has not been definitely identified. At first glance it looks like a Greater, but many have thought it is a large-billed race of the Lesser. Go to this site (http://fog.ccsf.cc.ca.us/~jmorlan/sandplover.htm) and take a look for yourself. I'm sure our US friends would appreciate opinions from some Australian wader authorities.
