I am one of a  small  group of  who have booked to go on a birdwatching trip out of Birdsville
  on 2nd August.
The trip is for fourteen days and travels south down  Eyre Creek  and then moves into the Simpson Desert and then back to Birdsville via the Diamantina River.
This walking  trip is supported by camels who will carry all the food and camping gear.
With all the flooding as reported in this area the country and the birding should be great in August.
If anyone is interested then contact me off line, and I will put them in touch with the operators, as I know that there are still a couple of spots available.
