The Slender-billed White-eye of Norfolk Is. is adapted to zirkeln, inserting
its longish bill into the rolled up ends of dead palm fronds, opening the
bill almost to a right angle, exposing spiders within and consuming them. We
watched a group working a collection of fallen fronds for fifteen minutes or
more while waiting for the bird that never came, the White-chested White-eye
