Hello one and all, While banding waders at Werribee this past weekend four Banded Lapwings landed in the catching area on one of the islets present in the lagoons. Presumably pushed off the Avalon airstrip or surrounding fields with the air show. Thought it may be of interest to some. Needless to say we waited patiently for Curlew Sands to arrive, our target species, resisting any temptation to catch the lapwings, and were duly rewarded with a small catch of CuSa's an hour later. The lapwings had since departed !
