Hi all Reports to hand from the NPWS field officer in the Macquarie Marshes, at least 6 pairs of Pied Herons are nesting in the Macquarie Marshes for the first time this year with another 30 individuals sighted but not known if breeding. A good example of the importance of these wetlands for waterbird breeding !
