For your information:

The Southern NSW & ACT Group, Birds Australia is conducting a seminar on 28
April 2001 at 1.30 p.m. at the Norman Knock Lecture Theatre, Royal North
Shore Hospital, St. Leonards, NSW in conjunction with its Annual General
Meeting.

The seminar is entitled "Woodlands and Urban Gardens: What do they have in
common?" and discusses the current status of our woodland and urban birds.
Mick Fendley, Birds Australia National Conservation Officer, will speak on
The Action Plan for Australia Birds and Birds Australia initiatives to
address reduced bird diversity.  Holly Parsons, Honours Student at
Wollongong University will discuss interspecific relationships in urban
bird assemblages, with particular reference to Noisy Miners and Pied
Currawongs, (being the results of the first Birds in Backyards survey), and
David Geering will speak on the outcomes of replanting woodlands in
relation to the Regent Honeyeater Recovery Project.

Registration fee: $15 per person (which includes afternoon tea).  Bookings
are essential.  Please forward remittance to: The Secretary, Southern NSW &
ACT Group, Birds Australia, P.O. Box 1322, Crows Nest, 1585 no later than
24 April 2001.
