G'day all

I certainly haven't seen all the seabirds. One of my birding ambitions is to
see a Light-mantled Sooty Albatross on a pelagic off Portland (or is it Port
Fairy these days?).

I'd like to add my recommendations of these trips. I've been on about 5 from
Portland, one from Port Fairy that was cut short due to bad weather and one from
Woolongong. I was as sick as a dog on the first trip but have taken pills since
and have never been sick again. The birds are fantastic - even on quiet days.
I've always seen new stuff but still have heaps to see. The extras such as
whales, dolphins, sharks and seals are great. The company is good too. They
are long, uncomfortable days but most rewarding. I congratulate the folk who
have organised them over the years and would hate to see the trips dwindle in
number.

It's three years since I've been on a pelagic so I'll defintely make the effort
this year. Hope to see you on board.

Cheers

Steve
