Dear Birding ausers,
Please allow me to add my two bobs worth on the contentious topic of night
parrot.
You have to hand to NP, he/she/it picks a topic that touches a nerve and
creates good honest debate. Without the latest grenade, I for one would have
no idea about the merits or pitfalls of cannon netting and therefore NP has
opened my eyes to both sides of the debate. That said, I believe that NP is
obviously knowledgeable about birding issues and therefore has a worthwhile
contribution to make to this list. It is just a real shame that it has to be
made covertly, behind a veil of a hotmail address.
Furthermore, it would be a pity to remove all hotmail addresses from the
mailing list because of the inconvenience to everyone who uses these
services. Coupled with this is the fact there are many more 'anonymous' and
'pseudo anonymous' remailers out there for NP to employ. As someone who
works in law enforcement and in particular child pornography, let me tell
you there are plenty of more harmful users of these remailers than NP's
activities of stirring the pot.
