Hi all, Visited Scheyville National Park (west of Sydney) on the weekend with Norma and Brian Baker and Grev And Marg Reidy. Main bird of interest was Speckled Warbler. Also saw heaps of Fuscous Honeyeaters. One disappointment was Long Neck Lagoon. I hadn't visited it for some years, but it is now completely overgrown with some sort of water weed (hyacinth?) Not a water bird of any sort was there, not even a Yellowlegs or Phalarope. It used to be an excellent site and the late Keith Hindwood spent much time there in the 1960's and before. happy birding, John Reidy Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
