Also at Banyule (05/01/01) - nesting White Winged Triller, Bronzewing (always
fun to see on the city), Little Grassbird, Galah, Grey Thrush, and Spotless in
the rushes on the far side. The walk to Banyule was also an opportunity to test
drive my new Nikon 10x40 HP - beautiful. Highly recommended.
Also this must be the year for Latham's - at a wetland near Drysdale (27/12/00)
on the Bellarine Pen, Vic, I counted at least 30.

G'day all
Here is a list of birds seen at the Banyule Wetlands and nearby Yarra River in
the Rosanna/Heidelberg area of Melbourne on 29th December 2000.
Lat/Long is 37 44 57 / 145 05 21 (GDA)
51 species in 2.5 hours. Not bad for a spot only about 10km from the GPO.
Cheers
Steve
