After a very quiet couple of weeks here are some of the highlights from Birdline Victoria:

26 December     An unconfirmed sighting of a Freckled Duck comes from Braeside Wetlands.  The bird was only seen by one person on Boxing Day and has not been seen since.

23 December     Over 200 Banded Stilts and 3 Black-tailed Godwits were seen at the Austin Road Lagoon, Werribee Sewage Farm, thanks Aidan Sudbury

16 December     A Wood Sandpiper was seen from the bird hide at the Edithvale Wetlands, thanks Peter Lansley

15 December     Up to 6 Painted Snipe 12 km west of Port Fairy. Take the Crags turnoff and proceed 800 metres towards coast. Birds seen in small roadside soak at this point.

5 December      A White-winged Triller was seen about 1 ½ kilometres north of the township of Maffra, thanks Duncan Fraser

Early December  Single Australian Pratincoles were seen near Swan Hill and Cohuna, thanks Chris Coleborn

Early December  Freckled Ducks were seen near Swan Hill and Pyramid Hill, thanks Chris Coleborn

Early December  Breeding records of Plumed Whistling ducks on the Dunkeld to Ararat Road 1.5 kilometres east of Willaura, thanks Neil Macumber
