We went to Mount Piddington near Mount Victoria in the Blue Mountains west
of Sydney today. At the car park with all the rock overhangs were saw and
photographed Red-browed Treecreepers on the tall eucalypts which are right
beside the road. Also here we saw a female Flame Robin and the first of
many Crescent Honeyeaters. There were lots of eucalypts in blossom along
the 1km walk to Hornes Point through the newly erected locked gate. While
walking through the lower vegetated area we had a Pilotbird singing on
either side of the track.
It was a perfect summer's day with lots of sunshine and no wind and no
bushfire smoke in the valleys making the views from the lookouts
spectacular. We hope you all had a good birding day as well.
