28th November 2000 Tonight at 7pm, a familiar shape moving across the sky caught my eye through the window. I grabbed my binoculars and raced outside to see a flock of about 30 White-throated Needletails moving in from the east. They then circled in a tight spiral directly above my house for a few minutes (as if making sure I knew they had arrived) before all flying off to the west. Hopefully the first of many this season. Cheers, Carol Carol Probets Katoomba NSW 100km west of Sydney Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
