Hi everyone/russell, yes the king quail is recorded often in the summer months and Pitt Town and Bushells lagoons as well as Cornwallis Rd, Richmond are regular sites. Yes they are not the best to see but I have had success in calling them out of cover by imitating their call which is not to difficult a call to imitate. But mostly they are in high grass and the usual sighting is when flushed, and as they dont fly to far befor dropping into cover you dont get much of a view. keith brandwood Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
