G'day all
[ Do we all remember what this group is supposed to be about? If you take
offense at what someone has said there's no need to share it with everyone -
respond directly. These messages are archived forever. Think about that before
pressing the send button. By all means lets have civilised debate where
appropriate however. Just my 2c worth. ]
Now - a few interesting bird records:
A Nankeen Night Heron flying along the Moonee Ponds Creek at Willowbrook
Reserve, Attwood, (near Melbourne Airport) in broad daylight last Friday (27th
Oct).
Tree Sparrows in the Airport Motel (Attwood, Melbourne) grounds. I rarely see
Tree Sparrows so it was interesting to me at least.
A Ringneck flew up from the side of the road today when I was riding to work.
It was green-headed so could have been one of our mallee birds that wandered
down south but I suppose it was an escaped pet.
A friend saw some Yellow-plumed Honeyeaters in the Claude Austin Reserve (near
Rocklands Reservoir spillway on the western side of the Grampians) on the
weekend. Another species that belongs further north.
Cheers
Steve Clark
