Hi all, I consider MP3 although highly compressed, to be as good as it is copied. There are a few factors in determining quality: hardware used, software used, quality of recording source and ultimately how high or low the sampling bit rate is set.Now i am no expert but by fooling around with MP3 for quite a while, have some experience in its uses. And as far as a permanent reference on bird calls etc,at home for example, it is no doubt useful. Cheers, Mark Kliene.
