G'day all and good luck to all that compete, whilst
all you brave and hearty souls are getting ready to
perform in this weekend's "Twitchathon" I have been
setting up some bits and bytes for next year.

Some of the idea's already to hand are:

A Bake-a-beak-athon much along the lines of the Oz
country stall fund raiser. Where selling home made
cakes to raise funds is used but with a twist? what's
the twist well apart form the best cake wins idea and
the great Cere Hugo judges all cakes what I thought
was how about best bird shaped cake? great for the
internet graphics just give a simple how to construct
the cake.

Have some prizes at and coming to my home already and
I have been holding discussions with members of the
Hastings and Western Port sailing clubs? thought being
to offer a weekend of sailing around Western Port in
your own sailboat (with supplied capt.) for 2 or 3
days. Birding of course I mean what else do they do
out there? :-]

I have many other great ideas in the pipeline but if
you have one of your own then give me an email and
lets see if we can get 2001 to really sing eh?

I've recently finished a new words to an old song that
I'd like to dedicate to "Cere Hugo" as I'm sure I
heard this being sung by him early Sunday morning in
his bathroom. As I waited outside his front door?
trying to identify it of course?

I'd sincerely love to hear and have a good childrens
choir record it? it's made a few around these parts
have wet eyes already .....

Aaaaah before I forget, a good friend of mine in the
pewter engraving business says he is making up a
special cup for next year? I think a one off 2001
twitch cup eh? looks nice without the engraving.

I wonder should I make up an email list server for the
planners of thee special birding events of next year?

Let me know if you would like to have a say or give an
idea? this would be for Western Port Bay events but
not Dover, Malin, Hebrides. Could be used by any Oz
birding group for next year, okay Ozzies :-]
