Just to give you a bit of a rundown on bird bookshops in the city, the best
book shop in Melbourne devoted to birds thereof (and natural history in general
thereof) is the Andrew Isles Natural History Books in Prahran (see address
details below), which is a highly specialized new and secondhand bookshop. You
may know it? They have a wide range of antiquarian title. From memory it is
worth ringing them to make a time ?
Other good nat history shops are Gaston Renard Books in Collingwood, Greens
Bookshop in Melbourne (good for gardening also), NRE Information Centre in East
Melbourne, and for good measure Octogon Books in Omeo! Details below.
All are worth a visit if you come into the big apple. There are probably a
number of others that I can't think of.
