Hello all,
I'm organising a non-profit birding trip to Nepal [and Singapore enroute for
one day] for some Queensland birders. The trip is going to depart both
Cairns and Brisbane on Sunday 11 March 2001. The complete itinerery is for 4
weeks and includes two days birding in the Kathmandu Valley, 7 days in the
Terai [or lowlands] including the Ramsar listed Kosi wetlands in the
southeast of the country and the famous Chitwan National Park, two days in
the Pokhara area and an 11 day trek through the Kali Gandaki area [we fly to
Jomsom towards the Tibet border and then hike out]. There is a free day in
Kathmandu at the trip's end. We have the benefit of a local Nepalese birding
guide for the duration of our trip.

The cost for the entire trip is $4850 Aussie including airfares, insurance,
all transport -[including two internal airfares and elephant rides in
Chitwan NP!], all accommodation, local guides, all breakfasts and most meals
[all on the trek], porters, entrance fees etc. It does not include Nepalese
Visa. It is possible to do the trip without the trek and this costs $3850.
