Only recently did I become aware of the 1998 document (3
volumes).
http://www.nre.vic.gov.au/plntanml/biodiversity/
I haven't yet read it thoroughly but there are some great words
- which should be used by conservationists, particularly when
addressing the Victorian government, eg.
"Our task is to ensure that Victoria?s biodiversity is conserved
by integrating the conservation of biodiversity into all
relevant
activities. It is an achievable task, and it is a task to which
all Victorians can be reasonably expected to contribute,
whether at home or at work, in business, government or as part
of other organisations."
It's puzzling that so few people in my circles seem to know
about the Strategy. I couldn't locate any references in the
Birding-Aus archive.
