Hi Birders,
An immature Banded Stilt was found today by Allan Benson near the Lions Park, Lake Edge Avenue, Chittaway Bay at 1600 hrs. The bird  was feeding furiously by itself near the outlet from a gross pollutant trap, wetland and reedbed on the shores of Tuggerah Lake. The cross street is Lake Edge Avenue and Thomas Walker Ave, Berkeley Vale. This is the second Central Coast record, the first was another immature bird at the same place 27-29 September 1996. The bird was feeding near some Silver Gulls, 2 roosting Caspian Terns and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits but did not appear to be associated with them in any way. When Craig Arms & I went to see the bird it was still there at 1830 hrs.
