Hello All
Barbary Doves have also nested in Darwin gardens. I seem to recall that
when I first heard of this several years ago now, no authority was
interested. Ten years ago I couldn't even interest them in feral pigeon
(Rock Dove) contro so why should they bother about a bird they'd not even
heard of!

I don't know whether Barbary Doves will bring similar problems to those
caused by feral pigeons, but as far as I'm concerned the precautionary
principle should rule. Any sparrow sighted in Darwin is destroyed on
sight. The same should go for Barbary Doves (and Rock Doves) and any
other potential pest species.
