This past Saturday we went for the first time to Magic Point at Maroubra/Malabar, NSW. Saw (among other things) several gannets as well as one dissimilarly-colored (greyish or darker head, missing the crisp b&w gannet underwings) but gannet-shaped and -sized bird with a SLOWer wingbeat.  Trying in hindsight to figure out whether this was a juvenile gannet, or some sort of booby?  (Next time we'll bring a scope.)

Many TIA for any input/ideas/info.

Maria
