A couple of Barn Swallows at Darwin sewage works this afternoon. My previous early dates for these have been late September. I have one June record. The Little Ringed Plover was still there, and a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, my first for the season (also a little earlier than normal, but only by a few days). Common Sandpipers are in numbers (30 or so at the sewage works I'd say). It will be interesting to see whether Little Curlew maintain their reliable arrival dates. No rare ducks yet. And the gulls haven't come in to roost yet either.
