Hi all,We have noticed this same behavour with the Glossy Black-cockatoos that we have been studying in Goonoo State Forest for six years. There is pre-breeding courtship begging and feeding. After the chick has hatched, when the adults come in to the nest at dusk, the female sits down the branch below the male and begs to be fed. This is repeated at least six or eight times and after a while she flys to the nest goes down, and feeds the chick. regards Janis Hosking ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com Birding-Aus is on the Web at www.shc.melb.catholic.edu.au/home/birding/index.html To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message "unsubscribe birding-aus" (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
