Hello All,
on 7/8/2000, 5:27, John Reidy asked:

Hi all,
Talking about ducks, what is the latest re the SIPO (Southern Island
Pied Oystercatcher) at Ballina? News by Thursday please.
Good Birding!
John Reidy

I am also interested the SIPO. Was there any response to John's request?
If so, (or, indeed, even if not) what is the current situation?
Is the bird (or is it birds now?) seen in a particular spot?
Is there any problem getting to the spot?
Is it better to visit on a weekday or are weekends ok?
(I prefer to do my birdwatching when there is less likelihood of the birds being disturbed by hordes of people enjoying themselves.)

I am contemplating a dash to Grafton in the next few days and would like to make the trip more profitable by catching a glimpse (and maybe a photo or two)of the SIPO as well on the way home.
At least that way I can be sure of one genuine sighting ;-)
