Hi all,
Here's the trip report for the Port Fairy Pelagic that sailed on Sunday 6th
August 2000.
Regards
Rohan
HIGHLIGHTS: Good numbers of albatross that where particularly hungry for
shark liver made for an interesting day. Nothing spectacular but a
White-faced Heron over the shelf (heading north) and a dead barn owl
floating in inshore waters were novelties.
CONDITIONS: Departed 0715 reaching the shelf break at 1020. Berleyed at two
locations one of which was a seamount. Docked at 1620. Slight to moderate
sea on moderate swell increasing around midday with wind squalls before
easing to calm seas in the PM. Wind: generally light increasing to 25-30
knots for an hour around midday. North-westerly. Clear skies in am, high
hazy cloud in PM.
