Hello,
Bird Routes of Barraba brochures were funded by Barraba Shire Council,
located ninety km north of Tamworth, NSW.
Cost for 10 sign posts, 3000 brochures and two large 'Welcome Barraba' signs
which feature a painting of the Regent Honeyeater was $2050. Volunteers dug
the post holes .
The adjacent Manilla Shire erected signs which link with Barraba's.
A new brochure with twelve sites is available from:
Jenny and Russ Watts
Barraba rd. Upper Manilla 2346 phone/fax 02 67856510
or the Barraba Information Centre, phone/fax 0267821255
Manilla Shire's brochure is part ofwww.manilla-info.net.
by John Wheeler, who produced both the brochure and
their website.
We are compiling a brochure and sites for signposts for Bingara to our
north,
our aim is to produce a Bird Routes of the north west slopes of NSW.
Since the Shire subscribed to the cost of small ads in Wingspan many bird
watchers
have come to this area including interstate and overseas groups.
regards, Jenny and Russ
