I suspect that there are very few, if any, Birding-aussers on the Gold
Coast. Previous requests for information from myself and others remain
unanswered. So I will pass on the information just given to me by a birder
on the coast.

Since 30 June, Swift Parrots have been observed at the northern end of
Laguna Park, Currumbin on the Gold Coast. ( I am sorry but I don't know
where Laguna Park is.) The largest number seen is fifteen. This morning
there were nine birds. They are feeding in a variety of trees including
Melaleucas. The favourite species, though, is Red Mahogany. There is
little blossom but the parrots have been observed feeding on lerps as well.

This is all second hand but many birders on the Gold Coast have been
observing these birds for the last couple of weeks. If anyone is heading
north during the school holidays, it may pay to check it out.
